Do you have a great idea for an iPhone app but don’t know where to start?
Maybe this is the “How to” Guide that will take you from concept to market. It’s currently available for our special introductory price of $8.99 – great value!
In early 2010, I had a breakthrough. I had been seeing the success and usefulness of many apps on the iPhone App store and had started thinking of creating my own app concepts and ideas.
With a little prompting from a client who was developing an app, I decided that I would take the plunge and develop some of app ideas that I had been thinking of.
My challenge was that I have no skills, aptitude or inclination toward any of the programming (or coding) skills required to create an app by myself. So I needed to find another way!
So how do you create and market an iPhone app with no programming knowledge?
My initial research into creating and marketing an app made it out to be a relatively simple and straightforward exercise. And while I have found that the steps are relatively straightforward, the detail of what you do and how you go about it is far from simple.
However, I persevered and muddled my way through the maze of processes and steps required to get my apps from concept to product on the app store. I then started thinking about marketing my apps – and that is a whole different ball game – as the App Store is like no other market you have ever experienced.
I currently have 2 apps making money on the App Store with another 5 in development. My first 2 apps are specialized business apps and I although I’m not getting wealthy, I have recovered my initial development costs and I am consistently making money.
I know from what I have learnt that my new apps will be far more profitable than the first two.
The important thing is that I have learnt heaps along the way and you can learn from my mistakes – and I’ve made plenty! I have also trialed and tested many of the techniques and tools recommended by the “experts” to work out the ones that really pay off.
And now I’m sharing everything I’ve learned with you in this comprehensive guide to creating and marketing iPhones apps for beginners.
What the “How to” Guide is:
It is the most comprehensive manual on the 9 Steps required to take your app idea and turn it into fully functioning app and to market it on the Apple App Store. It is designed for people who want to do this without learning how to program.
Who should buy this:
Anyone who has a concept for an iPhone application and who would like to see it brought to fruition on the App Store – without any programming knowledge.
Who should not buy this:
Advanced app developers who already understand the intricacies of app programming and complex marketing activities, anyone looking for a get-rich-quick opportunity and anyone who isn’t prepared to exert the effort required to learn and create something worthwhile.
It all starts with the germ of an idea
Since it’s launch in July 2008, the Apple App Store has hosted over 500,000 apps and had downloaded 10 billion apps by January 2011. The App Store has spawned millionaires and provided many others with the opportunity to express themselves through their apps.
All it takes is a simple idea. The iFart App is very simple app that has reportedly made it’s owner millions. In the last 2 years, I have met an amazing number of people with great ideas for apps but who lack the basic knowledge to turn their concept into a reality.
For many of these people, their apps would take little capital to develop but they simply lack the tools, techniques and contacts to make it happen
Introducing – How to create apps for your iPhone
When I released my first app – Force Field Analysis – I had an overwhelming number of friends and colleagues contact me asking me “…how did you do it? I have an idea…”
It was then that I realized the steep learning curve that I had embarked upon could help others navigate the journey from concept to reality. As I began writing the book, I did more and more research into different tools, techniques and resources for app development and marketing.
The concept behind the manual is simple
I have broken the app development and marketing journey into 9 Simple Steps. Each Step is a significant component of the process that takes you from concept development to prototyping to programming to app development to marketing, monitoring and evaluation.
This book is based on my experiences, mistakes and successes – you can learn from someone who has been there before you and can make the confusing simple.
What the manual will teach you:
This manual is aimed at beginners with no programming knowledge and a basic knowledge of computers and iPhones. It is meant for people who have no idea of how to program or market an app.
My goal with this eBook is simple. I want to give you the most comprehensive step by step guide to producing and marketing an iPhone app. I will lead you through the entire process of building and marketing your app from the ground up.
The Manual covers 254 A4 pages of densely packed information on exactly how to develop your iPhone application.
It includes links to over 204 additional app development and marketing resources plus 46 separate tips on making the development process easier.
Keep in mind that developing and marketing an app is a complex process. There are no guarantees of financial success. However, this manual will guide you through the 9 Step Process that covers topics like:
- Start with the end in mind
- Making Money with your App
- Designing your App
- Building Your Team of Contractors
- Build a Business Case
- Develop, Test and Refine
- Submit your App to Apple
- Marketing your App
- Monitor, Evaluate and Update
Each of these Sections of the eBook is covered in detail and includes a comprehensive resource list of over 204 useful apps, websites, tools, software, books and tricks.
As part of the package you also receive access to 2 custom spreadsheets, an online survey and data collection form to assist you in the process of planning, evaluating and submitting your app to Apple.
These are tools that I developed to help me make decisions on setting my app price and evaluating its performance in the market. I’ve also used the survey with Beta testers of my app for feedback and to ensure that I have all the information required by Apple prior to submitting my app.
I have tried to make the Manual as comprehensive as possible so that you have the entire process from concept to creation in one resource. Developing an app can be a great deal of fun and I have enjoyed the process immensely. I know you will as well.
Still with me? Great. Let’s talk about what is in the manual.

What people are saying about the eBook
I released the Ebook to a limited audience to get feedback and make sure the “How to Manual” was ready for sale and delivered on it’s promises.
Check out what some of them have said about the book:
“100% spot on Russell…Developing at iPhone app isn’t as easy as it might appear… you have covered to steps necessary to correctly plan and develop an app exactly as I found it when working on the Flowersbyphone app. As you mentioned it is critical to fully understand the structure inside and out before even talking with a coder… follow the processes in this book and you will be well on your way to creating an app people want to use. Great work Russell and good luck!! “ –

“Much more than a simple ‘how to’ guide. The ‘i’ standard in not just developing but conceiving, planning, launching and marketing an app.
Russell’s book enables anyone – from complete amateur to someone with middling IT skills – to develop an app from scratch.
The degree of detail is extraordinary though it is written and laid out in a way that makes it easy to identify what you need to do, when and how to do it.
The resources, tips, websites plus a plethora of other resources are extremely comprehensive and easy to access.
The 9 step approach is logical and ensures all aspects are covered in taking the path to developing and launching an app.
The spreadsheets that guide you through financial analysis and budgeting are particularly useful and user friendly.
I found the honesty of Russell’s own journey – mistakes and mishaps – refreshing and really enabled me to understand the pitfalls and opportunities in developing an app.”
James Atkins – Vantage Marketing

Final Thoughts and Pricing
If you’ve looked at other eBooks and resources on Creating Apps, you’ll know that many of the products retail for $97 and $47 (some are subscriptions services at these rates) and are usually specialised around one aspect of developing and/or marketing an App.
I’ve actually read most of the other eBooks available and I am a fan of some of them, but I think my ebook is the best option for beginners, for a few reasons:
First – At our special introductory offer of only $8.99 – it is great value.
Second – this is the most comprehensive guide to creating and marketing an app that I could find. It has more tips, resources and tools and is very detailed in its approach and processes.
Third – It is written from the perspective of someone with no programming skills or knowledge and who is not part of the IT establishment. I have minimised the jargon to make it understandable and real.
Is the “How to create apps for your IPhone” Guide Right For you?
That’s a question you’ll have to answer now.
If you are an aspiring iPhone App Developer then I doubt that you will find a more comprehensive Step by Step Guide for creating and marketing your app.
If it doesn’t sound right for you – right now. That’s ok.
Thanks for your interest and all the best for your future!

Weeeee, what a quick and easy soluiton.
Thanks for this great guide!!!
I am not a developer, and prefer using one of the app making services, such as SeattleClouds . I think it’s the easiest way to make apps.
Thanks Donna. Yes I agree that many of these services make it really easy to develop an app. Fr the purists there will always be a need for Coders.
